Men Be Motivated – challenge from EVERCLEAR

Watch This First.
Many of you have seen this already, I know…
Men, please be motivated by this. Are we angered by what angers God? Are we moved by what moves Him?
I am filled with what feels like rage when I watch this, if rage is pain and anger mixed with grief.
We MUST end this epidemic (and I hate when people use that word for something stupid). We must, as men, step in (is that where the term “step” parent should have come from?)
If the MEN of THE CHURCH don’t step in and end this, I hate to think of the consequences (though I guess we see them now as one report is that 78% of men in prison grew up without a father in the home when only 15% of the general population does) .
Men, let our hearts be turned back to our children… and the children of others who have been abandoned. There is NO higher calling that I can imagine.
We are all dying for the lack of spiritual parents… and the only cure is for some of us to be spiritual parents.  Oh, and thank your father if he didn’t leave and if he was a good father.

  1. Amen.
That song struck a deep chord with me and I fully agree…
As a father, I believe, a father is there to show Christ to his children…and this is why its so important for a dad to not be self centered, but Christ-centered…because if he’s not, he’s showing something twisted and they will reflect this twistedness in their lives and their choices….
I was blessed to have a very involved mother and father in my life and this is what I’m fighting with all I have for…to give him loving parents in his life…
My son’s emotional and spiritual life mean everything and I’m praying for the hearts surrounding him to be open to Christ’s love and show it in all they choose…
He’s nothing to hide, he’s nothing to cover up, he’s a miracle and I’m honored to be his father….I love him!
All of this makes me want to grab other fathers who take this honor for granted and shake them by the shoulders and wake them up….you can’t make up for bad parenting and not being involved early on in your child’s life.
It irks me when there are father who complain about such petty stuff, about how they have these expectations that get shaken up and how their children have “failed them”….that’s wrong…this isn’t about a child having to prove themselves to please a parent, the parent is to love as God loves…they are pleased with their child already and take joy in them…
So many fathers have this handed to them and they just throw it away…
They had a family offered to them on a silver platter…and they’ve walked out on them, refused to be involved in their children’s lives when they were young, who couldn’t control themselves and didn’t make the efforts to let their children know that they are capable and brilliant and talented….children need real dads.
And come what may, I’m here to be a real dad.
My heart breaks for the children who’s parents can’t be grown ups and who act like children themselves…Who create dramatic overtures instead of seeking stable and loving resolutions and teaching good communication skills and developing their ability to resolve conflicts in a healthy manner.
It’s monkey see monkey do…and some parents don’t act much more than monkeys.
They refuse to show Christ to their children and their children reflect their parents….
Selfish Christian fathers show their children something terrible…they show them a lie on who Christ is and their children keep this twisted lie in their heads and hearts.
Father’s are important, more so, it’s involved fathers…
This is about putting Christ at the center and being a father who shows him to my son, no matter what.
    I’m a dad….and I’m proud of it 🙂
    Thanks for sharing this post.
