I guess I should explain that I am in Israel right now, in Jerusalem, helping guide a tour for the Womenary ministry that I am a part of… we are on day 6 of a 7 day tour!
First, to calm fears…
Yes, there was some rioting in Jerusalem today and some people were arrested and they limited access to the Mount. This is not super rare and was expected and prepared for. We weren’t there.
Secondly, there were
a couple of rockets that hit somewhat south and east of Jerusalem earlier today… If warning alarms sounded in Jerusalem, we didn’t hear them. Our whole team is in rooms on the below-ground floor in any case, which are the safety rooms… and the concrete bunker required in all modern buildings here in on our hallway.
However, remember that American Media is sensationalistic… we are right here and experiencing essentially none of it (just like if there were a riot or a shooting in North Tyler)… even the rockets that hit Tel Aviv, didn’t actually hit Tel Aviv, but somewhere south of the big city… but American media isn’t concerned about those kind of trivialities. I have actually enjoyed the american media coverage… Check out the picture I am posting from KETK in Tyler – at all outrageous?
The main concerns I hear communicated here has been: How much it costs to shoot down the SCUD-like missiles… the timetable for different areas face before they need to get into shelters… and the fears over sending their sons and daughters in a ground offensive that no one really wants. Remember that all Israeli youth are automatically in the military at age 19. That is what we need to pray for seriously – is that HAMAS stops all of this before that happens. Please pray for them!
And, the role of the Egyptians and Saudi’s seems to be seen as interference – while they are there, the Israeli’s feel that they cannot shoot back. They do appreciate the support of the Americans and British, though.

We, on the other hand, have had a wonderful trip. I will also include a picture of me being really stressed…
You can follow more of the trip on my Facebook site linked on my cover page.
Meditate on This:
A Song of Ascents. Of David.
1 I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
2 Our feet have been standing
within your gates, O Jerusalem!
3 Jerusalem—built as a city
that is bound firmly together,
4 to which the tribes go up,
the tribes of the Lord,
as was decreed for Israel,
to give thanks to the name of the Lord.
5 There thrones for judgment were set,
the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
“May they be secure who love you!
7 Peace be within your walls
and security within your towers!”
8 For my brothers and companions’ sake
I will say, “Peace be within you!”
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek your good.

I like it when people come together and share thoughts.
Great site, continue the good work!
