My Book List

Some people have been asking for a book list.  Here is my first blush at it.  I know I am leaving out things I am reading now and have read in the past, so I will have to add to it over time… but here we are:
First, the most important books in my life…
1.  The Screwtape Letters by Lewis…
has been the most personal impacting book in my life outside of the Bible (my favorite books of the Bible, are incidentally, Mark, Ruth, Hebrews, John, Galatians, 1 Peter and 1 & 2 Samuel. The rest are good too 😉
2.  The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning – a must read for all Christians.  The follow-up book (Abba’s Child) is also great stuff.  And Rich Mullins, my favorite poet, was greatly inspired by this book.  Meeting Brennan would be a life goal, I think.  In fact, it turns out that it is the Truth that sets us free, after all.
3.  The Tale of Three Kings – this one probably saved my heart in the last 3 years.  Its not as biblically precise as I would like, but I have decided to look past the errors, because the message is very biblical.
4.  Life Together by Bonheoffer – this changed even the basic things about how I see the Christian life.
and
5.  The Listener by Taylor Caldwell – probably the most important book in regards to my counseling
