Let’s Talk About Voter Fraud

Let’s Talk About Voter Fraud

I have some quick thoughts on this and some recommendations, especially for Christians.

1.  Democrats – I am personally not interested in hearing about outrage about undermining the sanctity of the election process from the Democrat party representatives.

Hillary still talks in terms of the 2016 election being “stolen” from her.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUqxX0YAafg

Stacy Abrams is still saying she won. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/04/28/magazine/stacey-abrams-election-georgia.html

and plenty of other examples of democratic spokespeople claiming that the 2016 election was illegitimate either because of the voter suppression, foreign involvement or worst of all, because of the electoral college. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/opinions/wp/2016/12/16/the-2016-election-was-stolen-got-a-nicer-way-to-say-that/

2. Republicans – I am not interested in hearing Republican party representatives jumping quickly on allegations of illegal voting practices as evidence of large-scale voter fraud without vetted evidence.

The Republicans have made claims demanding due process in many cases in the last few years. https://www.nationalreview.com/2016/06/democrats-abandon-due-process/

Republicans are supposed to stand against fake news – reporting opinions as facts or reporting facts that aren’t verified… https://www.axios.com/trump-effect-92-percent-republicans-media-fake-news-9c1bbf70-0054-41dd-b506-0869bb10f08c.html

Republicans claim to be conservative – to want to hold onto systems and work within the Constitutional systems. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/video/republican-candidates-define-conservatism-abc-news-gop-debate-36764052

3.  Christians – I am hopeful that Christians will stop engaging in the unchristian vices of intemperance, impatience, pride, and faithlessness.

Ephesians 4:2  With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love…

Phil 4:6.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Psalm 27:14. Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

I Cor 13:4-6. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; love is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

Christians – in being loving followers of Jesus, we are to rejoice in the truth.  This is impossible to do without waiting for and allowing the truth to be revealed.  Let us take a breath, rest back into the Lord, and let these scary issues be worked out properly before making judgment.  Of course, there is misconduct – humans are still humans.  Lord willing, in the proper process, the crimes, errors, and misdeeds will be revealed… and to the degree they impact something like an election, we will call for justice and the rule of law. Continue to pray for our leaders – all of them, no matter whether you voted for them or not.

Republicans – stop portraying yourselves as above reproach; do not encourage radical talk or inflammatory behavior.  Call for and wait for justice to work.  Call for the due process to work and let it do so.  If in the end, your guy wins – be just as diligent in searching for fraud and misconduct as if your guy lost.

Democrats – stop portraying yourself as “holier than thou;” yesterday, you were saying that the system needed to be blown up, but not the system may work in your advantage… Allow for due process to work things out without giving too much value to the dumb things people on the other side are saying which are identical to what people on your side were saying last week.  If in the end, you guy wins – be just as diligent in searching for fraud and misconduct as if your guy lost.

Americans – we can agree that we all want all legal votes counted and recorded properly.  At least, we all claim it – and most of us actually do want it.  Of course we will not all be equally pleased with the same results… but let us all return to being pleased with being able to have a system that works – and let it work – and then make adjustments where it doesn’t.  We can do all of this while have a safe and peaceful election.

Christians, remember our role in any election like this.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wplASDL0b-Y&t=9s
